The Bald MemeCoin Jungle Mystery

Igor Igamberdiev, the head tiger at Wintermute, has been prowling the crypto jungle, sniffing out intriguing on-chain clues linking the Bald memecoin developer to Alameda Research. The Bald memecoin, which sent shockwaves through the jungle with its “rug pull”, had a peak market cap of a massive $85 million before its sudden crash to near-zero!

At the heart of Igamberdiev’s jungle tracking is an old treasure chest (read: wallet) connected to Alameda, which shares the same FTX deposit address as the Bald deployer. This chest has seen hefty treasures passing through and showed signs of cunning technical skills on platforms like Oasis, 0x v2.1, dYdX v2, and Set Protocol between 2019-20.

While we can’t roar out loud that Alameda pulled the rug from under Bald’s feet, the on-chain animal tracks suggest a strong connection between the token’s developer and Alameda.

But hold your monkeys! Another treasure chest has swung into the scene, showing typical FTX on-chain behaviour and tied to the first chest via shared FTX deposit address. This address was a big ape on dYdX, stirred up early SushiSwap proposals, received a POAP NFT from Yearn launch, and farmed tokens on platforms like Compound, SushiSwap, Cream, and Stargate.

So, what’s the jungle verdict? The evidence is piling up but remains as elusive as a jungle cat in the night. Stay tuned for more crypto jungle mysteries!
